# MVUEH ciphertext readings after decryption

The preferred reading remains an evidence-based reconstruction within the alternatives recorded before discovery. The outgoing facsimile is pale; cryptanalytic consistency helps choose among prior alternatives but does not turn faint strokes into certain visual observations. The source originals were not edited.

Every index below is one-based in the 82-letter body, excluding MVUEH. The native-baseline changes are 27 M→N, 43 R→L and 47 T→Z. Positions 43 and 47 are inside the supplied place-name crib; 27 is outside it. The crib also fixes ambiguous positions 44 R and 49 V. The remaining ambiguity choices were selected by the original trigram objective, which had one best reading among 576 crib-compatible alternatives. The independent audit preserved all 576 and the 13,824-reading pre-crib domain.

The eight differences from the published received transcription all agree with preferred letters already recorded in the pre-discovery character assessment. Position 47 Z already agrees with the published received text. This distinction between visual reading, prior alternatives, crib constraints and language scoring is retained in the independent reading audit.

## Literal garbles and editorial restoration

The preferred ciphertext decrypts to BTTE at the beginning and WASCHBBSCH at the end. Restoring BITTE requires an editorial plaintext insertion; no ciphertext insertion is claimed. Restoring WASCHBUSCH changes plaintext position 79 from B to U and is tentative. Neither restoration participates in exact re-encryption. The complete literal 82-letter result is preserved separately.
