﻿# Independent physical key and header audit

PASS. The coherent order 253 body candidate has exactly 26 physical ring/start realizations. Exactly one matches the preferred recorded header GTA/KCI:

- Rotors, left to right: II V III; reflector B.
- Ring settings: H M F, or 08 13 06 in one-based numbers.
- Body start: R W D.
- Plugboard: AC BE DG FH KN MO PR SU TV XZ.
- At GTA, encrypting RWD gives KCI; decrypting KCI gives RWD.

No class-33 member matches GTA/KCC, QTA/KCI or QTA/KCC. QTA was included only as a separately labelled lower-confidence diagnostic; no source transcription was changed.

The adjacent class-32 candidate has 598 physical realizations (23 middle/right window pairs times 26 left windows). All 598 were replayed and none matches any of those four header combinations. The two stepping classes differ at body press 72; their candidate plaintexts differ at positions 72–82. Thus the independently withheld preferred header resolves the adjacent stepping ambiguity.

Every one of the combined 624 physical keys reencryts and decrypts its complete chosen 82-letter body exactly. The body checker independently verifies the supplied job, all original finite letter sets, the crib, and the exact crib-conditioned objective optimum. All physical keys and all header diagnostics are retained in ALL-PHYSICAL-FAMILIES.jsonl, including nonmatches.

This text is preserved literally, including apparent garbles. The chosen ciphertext differs from the phase-2 default at the positions recorded in READING-DIFFERENCES.json. The header fixes the physical key within this body family; it does not choose between every permitted handwritten ciphertext reading. Source-image interpretation, linguistic normalization, and historical identification remain separate from this arithmetic certificate. No score threshold or exhaustive global-search claim is made.

The audit independently enumerated all 676 middle/right starting-window pairs using Py-Enigma stepping, classified their exact full-body tick strings, and derived every left-window/ring equivalent. Turnover depends on window positions; adding the same offset to the left start and left ring preserves the electrical trajectory. This gives every physical realization of the supplied reduced state and stepping class. Source records were selected by the already-declared order, q1, board and classes, before header comparison.
